Consultation for John Milton Academy Trust Admissions Policy 2024-25
The John Milton Academy Trust is an admission authority, and it is a requirement for the Trust to
consult on the admission arrangements for our schools at least once every 7 years.
Therefore, a consultation relating to the Admissions Policy for 2024-25 for all schools within the John
Milton Academy Trust, will commence on Monday 7th November 2022 and will conclude at midnight
on Monday 19th December 2022. The schools covered by this consultation are:
One proposed amendment to the existing policy is to reduce the PAN for Mendlesham Primary
School from 20 pupils down to 15. This is because the current net capacity in the school is 114
pupils. Although an individual year group can rise to 20 pupils and be accommodated within the
existing building, this higher number cannot be replicated across the school. The substantive PAN,
therefore, needs to be at 15.
Mulberry Centres
Admission to the Mulberry Centres (at Stowupland and Mendlesham) operates through places
commissioned by Suffolk County Council. The Centres are not, therefore, included in this
consultation.
The Consultation Process
We would welcome your views on the proposed admission arrangements. The proposed Admission
Policy for 2024-25 can be found here: JMAT Admissions Policy 2024-25 consultation
Notification of the consultation is being communicated by the Trust to the following:
Parents/carers are welcome to respond by emailing comments relating to the proposed admissions
arrangements as set out above to enquiries@johnmiltonacademytrust.co.uk or if you have any
questions, please contact the headteacher at your school or JMAT Central Office on 01449 742422.
At the end of the consultation process all responses will be collated and presented to the Trust
Board for full consideration. The Admissions Policy for 2024-25 must be approved and published by
28th February 2023 date.
